Thingman Thingnok, PD ATMA, FTC Kherem, introduced the participants to the relevance of World Soil Day and regarding conservation and management of soil. Dr. Madhumita Sonowal Bora, SMS Plant Potection, ICAR-KVK, Namsai, explained the farmers regarding the benefits of crop rotation, growing leguminous crops, using organic manure and balanced fertilization. Shravani Sahani, SMS Agricultural Extension, ICAR-KVK, Namsai, briefed about summer ploughing and importance of soil management. This was followed by distribution of soil health cards to 20 farmers, demonstration of soil collection method for soil testing and visit of the participants to the soil testing laboratory.
        The programme was attended by a total of 32 participants including farmers and officials of KVK Namsai and FTC Kherem.
